Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Paramedic in Charlotte, NC. You will work nights in a 7p–7a, two-year ED/CCT experience is required, with a Paramedic Certification or Degree and a valid NC driver’s license.

You’ll collaborate with RN and physician-led teams to provide timely, compassionate care, perform transfers, and manage emergent patient needs within hospital protocols.

Qualifications

• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire.
• Current driver's license for Critical Care Transport Departments.

Responsibilities

• Provide care within RN/physician led team using protocols and evidence.

• Assist in routine care such as start IVs and dressing changes.
• Respond to critical situations, including CPR.

What We Offer

LOCATION: Charlotte, NC

HOURS/SHIFT: three 12hr shift, 7p-7a, Sat-Mon nights

2 years required for ED and CCT, required.

Paramedic Certification or Degree, required.

The Paramedic serves as a member of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with other team members to provide care that promotes optimal health. The paramedic utilizes best scientific evidence, protocols, and compassion to assist the care of the patient during their health journey. The Paramedic accepts accountability for provision of care, as part of the RN and physician led team, in accordance with the current policies, protocols and procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: 2 years required for ED and CCT, required. 3 years required for Event Medicine, required.
• Licensure/Certification: Paramedic Certification or Degree, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments, required. Current driver's license in appropriate state for Critical Care Transport Departments, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Must have ability to assess and/or interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age, as well as health and developmental needs. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in written documentation. Excellent customer service skills. Possesses the ability to prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels. Administer and evaluate medication therapies, performs patient transfers and transport patients via wheelchair, hospital bed, or stretcher to other departments. Ability to lift and carry various equipment including portable cardiac monitors, etc. Ability to provide routine care such as start IV's, perform dressing changes, etc. to patients in a timely manner. Ability to perform in critical situations, including administering CPR.
