Job summary

County of Roanoke Virginia is seeking a dedicated ALS attendant to supervise the rescue unit on call and provide advanced life support at the scene and during transport to medical facilities.

The role requires EMS and firefighting experience, a valid Virginia driver’s license, and completion of required ACLS and continuing education hours. You will participate in ongoing training and support fire suppression and prevention programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Emergency medical services and firefighting experience is required.
• Valid Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record and compliance with emergency vehicle regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls with the rescue unit on call or as firefighter on apparatus.
• Provide emergency medical services including ALS at the scene and during transport.
• Perform rescue from life-threatening situations and assist in protecting property.
• Drive emergency vehicles and operate related equipment.
• Prepare and maintain incident records and patient reports.
