Job summary

The Highlands County Board of County Commissioners is recruiting for a paraprofessional in Public Safety to render advanced pre-hospital life support and emergency medical services. Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Must hold a current valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License.
• Disaster Essential.

Responsibilities

• Provides Basic and Advanced Life Support care according to EMS procedures and protocols.
• Administers pre-hospital emergency rescue and medical services under supervision of a licensed physician.
• Occasionally fills in as an EMT on a BLS unit and may drive an ambulance.
• Handles emergency and non-emergency patient transfers, within and outside Highlands County.
• Completes patient reports and daily unit reports accurately and timely.
• Keeps ambulance and equipment clean and stocked with supplies.
