Job summary

Hernando County Fire Rescue seeks a Paramedic to deliver high-level pre-hospital care and transportation for medical emergencies. You will follow the county EMS protocols, provide ALS services, and ensure safety and accuracy in all responses.

As part of HCFR, you will operate EMS units, document incidents, and support training for new EMTs and paramedics, maintaining readiness for varied shifts and urgent calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year as EMT or paramedic preferred.
• Must possess State of Florida Paramedic License and ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications.
• CJIS clearance and HCFR medical director authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Provide ALS patient care following HCFR protocols.
• Respond to medical emergencies and transport patients as needed.
• Operate and maintain EMS units and equipment.
• Draft incident and medical reports clearly and professionally.
• Train and mentor new EMTs and paramedics when assigned.
