Job summary

Johnson County MED-ACT seeks dedicated Paramedics to deliver life-saving prehospital care across Johnson County. You will respond to emergency calls, administer advanced medical treatment, and transport patients to facilities, working within 24-hour shift patterns.

Qualified applicants are KS-licensed paramedics or eligible for reciprocity, with a willingness to meet ongoing training and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Paramedic certification in Kansas, or eligible for reciprocity. National Registry is optional.
• Biennial Kansas Paramedic recertification at the employee’s expense.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls in various out-of-hospital settings, including interfacility transfers.
• Maintain scene safety and protect responders, patients, and the public.
• Maintain readiness of personnel, vehicle, and equipment for prehospital care.
• Assess patient conditions and administer medical care per protocols.
• Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment and vehicles.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and first responders on scene and in hospital.
• Complete documentation of patient care.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent (required)

Paramedic certification in Kansas (or eligibility)

Biennial Kansas Paramedic recertification (at employee's expense)
