Job summary

Adena Health System in Chillicothe, OH, is seeking a Paramedic for the Adena EMS night shift. This full-time role provides emergency medical care and patient transport within the EMS scope and operates under the EMS Manager. The position requires Ohio EMT-Paramedic certification or higher, BLS/ACLS, a valid Ohio driver's license, and 1 year of healthcare experience; 2 years is preferred.

Must be at least 21. Night shift 7 PM–7:30 AM, every third weekend.

Qualifications

• Required Educational Degree: High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred Education: NRP.
• Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Ohio EMT - Paramedic Certification, BLS, ACLS, Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
• Preferred Certifications, Credentials and License(s): NREMT Paramedic Certification, EVOC, NRP.
• Required Experience: 1 year healthcare experience.
• Preferred Experience: 2 years of private or emergent (911) medical services experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to be insurable under our insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate emergency medical care and transportation within the EMT - Paramedic scope of practice.
• Responsible for patient assessment, treatment, and transport to or from medical facilities or residences.
• Maintains treatment protocols, safety standards, and effective communication in high-stress environments.
• Ensures safe ambulance operation and professional representation of the EMS Health Care System.
• Includes direct patient care and operates under the supervision of the EMS Manager.
