Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey seeks a Paramedic to provide quality 911 advanced emergency medical response in the community and surrounding area. The role covers advanced pre-hospital care with supervision and active involvement in training and QA processes.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, documentation, vehicle operation, equipment readiness, and participation in staff education. Valid NJ Paramedic certification and CPR at professional rescuer level required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a recognized Paramedic Training Program.
• Current NJ Paramedic certification and CPR at professional rescuer level; ACLS/PALS or PEPP/ITLS; EVOC where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessment and provides appropriate treatment according to established protocols and medical command in the pre-hospital setting.
• Documents patient assessment, treatment, response to treatment and transfer of care; responds to quality assurance requests.
• Operates MICU vehicles safely, adheres to driving policies and reports problems promptly.
• Performs vehicle and equipment checks at the start of each shift; maintains stocked ready room.
• Completes supply inventory as requested by department management.
• Maintains all Virtua owned equipment and property in a safe, clean and secure manner.
• Participates in education, orientation and training of staff and others.
• Monitors student performance and provides guidance to help the student develop skills.
