Job summary

Priority Patient Transport in Staunton, VA seeks dependable Paramedics to provide advanced life support and emergency care in a 24/7 operation. Shifts are 10–12 hours with days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

You’ll respond to calls, assess patients, and transport to facilities while maintaining HIPAA compliance and thorough documentation. Minimum qualifications include state Paramedic certification, BLS/ACLS, and PALS (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification or state license is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications must be current.
• PALS certification or ability to obtain within required period.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to undergo background and drug testing.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency medical calls.
• Assess patients and provide advanced life support within scope.
• Stabilize patient, monitor heart, manage airway, meds, IV/IO as allowed.
• Determine appropriate treatment and transportation needs.
• Transport patients to hospitals and facilities safely.
• Monitor and reassess patients during treatment and transport.
• Communicate with dispatchers, facilities, medical control, patients, families.
• Complete accurate electronic patient-care reports promptly.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Inspect and restock ambulances, meds, equipment, supplies.
• Follow clinical protocols, safety procedures, infection-control standards.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely per laws and policies.
• Assist with station duties, training, quality improvements, and operations.
• Maintain professional conduct with patients, healthcare personnel, public safety partners.
