Job summary

Daviess Community Hospital seeks an experienced Paramedic to perform advanced life support in the field and the ER, mentor EMTs, and train the public and students in EMS. You will assess patients under pressure and administer life-saving care while working in challenging environments.

Requirements include Indiana Paramedic License (National Registry preferred), BLS/ACLS/PALS, Indiana driver’s license, ITLS, AMLS, CEVO certifications within 1 year, and EMS experience.

Qualifications

• Indiana Paramedic License (National Registry Preferred).
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS, required.
• Indiana driver's license, required.
• Certifications in ITLS, AMLS, and CEVO within 1 year of hire date.
• One year full time or two years part time or volunteer EMS experience, required.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced life support and technical EMS work in the field and ER.
• Mentor EMTs and train the public and students in EMS.
• Assess patient condition under stress and administer appropriate life support.
• Possibly plan and conduct training sessions on life support techniques.
• May perform other technical rescue functions as assigned to meet EMS needs.

Shift: 24 Hour

The Paramedic performs advanced life support and technical emergency medical work in the field and the ER, mentors EMT's and trains the public and students in EMS. The major challenge of this position is to provide accurate physical assessment and interpretation of patient condition and administer appropriate basic and advanced life support treatment. The incumbent must be able to work under stress and initiate appropriate life saving measures and perform physical activity which requires full range of body movement, often in uncontrolled, potentially dangerous situations. May plan and conduct training sessions on basic and advanced life support techniques. After appropriate training, this position may perform other technical rescue functions. The role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned to meet Daviess Community Hospital EMS needs.
