Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health, Inc. is seeking a capable paramedic to deliver Advanced Life Support during emergency transport and to follow departmental and state guidelines.

This role supports a high-acuity patient population in pre-hospital settings and hospital-based EMS operations on multiple campuses. The ideal candidate will hold required paramedic credentials, meet NJ requirements, and demonstrate strong clinical judgment with a collaborative team approach.

Qualifications

• AAS in paramedicine required if certified after June 2015.
• High School Diploma or GED required if certified prior to June 2015.
• At least one year EMS experience or NJ RN with MICN endorsement.
• NREMT-P or NR Paramedic preferred.
• Knowledge of NJAC 8:41.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
• IC 100, IC 200 and IC 700 certifications required.
• PHTLS, BTLS or ITLS within 6 months of hire required.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record.
• CEVO or EVOC within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide ALS care per policies and NJ DOH MICU regulations.
• Administer premiere pre-hospital care during transport for all ages.

Education

Job description

Responsible for providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) care as prescribed by Departmental and Hospital policies and procedures, as well as the New Jersey Department of Health Mobile Intensive Care Unit regulations. Administers premiere pre-hospital care to critically ill or injured individuals of all age groups when delivering emergency care during transport.

Qualifications

• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in paramedicine if certified after June 2015
• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) if certified prior to June 2015
• At least one year of relevant EMS experience or NJ Registered Professional Nurse (RN) with Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) endorsement
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic (NREMT-P) or National Registered Paramedic (NRP) preferred
• Knowledge of N.J.A.C. 8:41
• Certifications in American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS required
• Certifications in IC 100, IC 200 and IC 700 required
• Certifications in PHTLS, BTLS or ITLS within 6 months of hire required
• Valid state driver’s license with no pending violations and an acceptable driving record
• Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator (CEVO) training or Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) within 6 months of hire required
