The primary purpose of the Paramedic position is to provide and direct pre-hospital Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS, ALS) in all weather conditions, in concert with other EMS employees, as a member of the patient care team under the supervision of a licensed Medical Control Physician (MCP) and EMS Supervisor. The role involves assessing, treating, lifting, moving patients of all ages and populations, transporting them to medical facilities, and completing all documentation to support EMS operations and represent UH professionally.
Must be in excellent physical condition, capable of seeing colors, hearing, speaking, reading, and operating equipment. Must lift a minimum of 50 lbs. frequently and up to 125 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions, lift and move patients, and handle unpredictable and potentially hazardous situations, including exposure to blood-borne pathogens and assaultive behaviors.
