Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct basic and advanced life support in pre-hospital or facility situations.
• Examine patients and report findings to medical staff.
• Deliver emergency medical care as per protocols.
• Deliver emergency medical care as indicated by medical control or protocols.
• Complete and file all required reports for crews and runs.
• Operates the ambulance safely per company policies and laws.
• Ensure vehicle is stocked and in good running order at all times.
• Clean patient care compartment and vehicle following infection control guidelines.
• Maintain facility areas and vehicle parking in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Attend required trainings to maintain Virginia EMT certification and company requirements.
• Maintain all certifications as an active EMS provider and provide copies before expiration.
• Perform other related duties as required by management.

Job description

The Paramedic role is responsible for the direction of patient care while operating non-emergency and/or emergency modalities as rescue unit in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and directives.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Time will be spent leading, directing, and participating in the delivery of basic and advanced life support in a pre-hospital or facility situation.
• Gives direction to other crew members when operating as attendant-in-charge on patient care and medical issues.
• Examines patients and reports findings to receiving medical staff or physicians.
• Delivers emergency medical care to patients as indicated by medical control or patient care protocols.
• Responsible for completing and recording all required reports or runs made by the crews.
• Operate the ambulance in accordance with safety rules and regulations: company policies; federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and statutes
• Assuring that assigned vehicle is completely stocked and in good running order at the beginning of each shift, after every response, and at the end of each shift.
• Cleaning patient care compartment and vehicle in accordance with Company adopted infection control and maintenance guidelines.
• Maintaining office, lounge, bunk room, and vehicle parking area in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
• Ability to lift, carry, and balance a minimum of 125 pounds equally distributed and 250 pounds with assistance, to a height of 33 inches and a distance of 10 feet
• Attending training sessions and orientations as required to maintain valid Virginia EMT Certification and requirements of the Company.
• Maintain all required certifications as an active EMS provider and supply the Human Resources Department with valid copies of all certifications and driver's license prior to their expiration date.
• Performing other related duties as required by management.
