Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA is seeking a dedicated Paramedic to join the Transport Paramedic team. You will provide pre-hospital advanced life support from the initial contact through transfer to the receiving facility, while ensuring a seamless patient experience.

The role requires PA Paramedic certification with EMSVO endorsement and active ALS provider experience, with opportunities for ongoing education and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and therapists.

Qualifications

• Must be PA Paramedic certified with EMSVO endorsement.
• Two years of active ALS provider experience.
• Neonatal resuscitation certification and PEPP preferred.
• National Registry preferred; clear driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital advanced life support from first contact to hand-off at receiving facility.
• Operate within PA DOH EMS scope of practice.
• Maintain competency through continuing education and clinical experiences.
• Ensure equipment readiness and prompt response to support ground transport.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals and healthcare teams.
• Communicate effectively with transfer centers and receiving physicians.

The Transport Paramedic team at Conemaugh Health plays a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality advanced life support care during interfacility transport. As a representative of Conemaugh Health, our paramedics are responsible for providing exceptional patient care from departure through transfer to the receiving or post-acute care facility while ensuring a seamless patient experience.

Our team cares for patients across the lifespan, from neonates to geriatric populations, and practices within Pennsylvania Department of Health EMS guidelines while utilizing advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Transport Paramedics maintain clinical competency, ensure equipment readiness, assist within the Emergency Department as appropriate, and serve as trusted clinical resources for patients, families, and healthcare teams.

We foster a collaborative, patient-centered environment where paramedics work closely with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals. How you'll contribute

A Paramedic who excels in this role:

• -Provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility; maintains thorough patient care documentation
• -Practices within his/her scope of practice as defined by PA Department of Health, Bureau of EMS.
• -Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing continuing education and clinical experiences.
• -Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies to assure readiness and immediate response to assist providers by ground.
• -Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, physicians and the public.
• - Assume responsibility and accountability in communications with transfer center and receiving physicians through the transfer center line.
• -Maintains and completes all required licensure, certifications, continuing education, state and departmental requirements.
• -Serves as role model, educator, and clinical resource

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a possess a high school graduate or equivalent and Completion of a paramedic course with certificate. Additional requirements include:

• Current Pennsylvania Paramedic certification with active EMSVO endorsement. Current Pennsylvania driver's license with excellent driving record and no restrictions.ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS/ITLS (or equivalent) NIMS certification (100, 200, 700, 800)
• Current active field experience of at least two years as an ALS Provider with active medical command status.
• Neonatal resuscitation certification, PEPP, National Registry Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision Preferred
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
