Job summary

AMR in Bozeman is seeking a Paramedic for a full-time overnight role to deliver advanced medical care using defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction, and IV therapy while leading the scene and coordinating with the team.

This position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment and requires Montana Paramedic Certification or pending, National Registry, and a valid Montana Driver’s License, plus BCLS/ACLS/PALS/PEPP/BTLS. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred.
  • Montana Paramedic Certification current or pending.
  • National Registry active or current.
  • Valid Montana Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assess on scene and determine the best course of action.
  • Provide advanced medical care using equipment (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, IV fluids).
  • Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
  • Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
  • Develop and utilize triage skills to maximize efficiency on calls.
  • Deliver patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
  • Lift and move patients as needed to provide optimum care.
  • Coordinate with receiving facility to obtain medical direction and relay critical information.
  • Drive the ambulance and assist with map reading to minimize response time.
  • Communicate with dispatcher to receive call data and feedback.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Paramedic, your mission is to provide compassionate, top‑notch patient care with a blend of both basic and advanced medical services. Our aim is to deliver these services in a professional, caring, and cost‑effective manner that demonstrates our commitment to excellence and our community.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
  • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given and to show compassion.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
  • Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during calls.
  • Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
  • Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
  • Communicate with receiving facility to receive medical direction and to provide critical information.
  • Drive the ambulance and provide map reading support to minimize call response time.
  • Communicate with dispatcher to receive and understand call data and customer feedback.
SHIFT
  • Overnight shifts required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
  • Meet and communicate with existing customers/staff members (including skilled nursing, assisted living, and hospital facilities) on a regular basis to ensure that AMR is meeting their needs. Reports these interactions to the operations and/or account manager on a regular basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Some advanced education preferred.
  • Current state of Montana Paramedic Certification or application pending.
  • Current National Registry.
  • Possess a valid State Driver’s License.
  • Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS.
  • Driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policy.
  • Ability to pass drug & background screening.
  • Ability to pass a physical agility test (PAT).
