Position Summary

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides legal support to the firm's attorneys and clients. Maintains confidentiality and positive contact with attorneys, support staff, clients, and vendors. Responsibilities may be revised as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and negotiate title reports, surveys, zoning certificates, and other due diligence documents for commercial real estate loans.
  • Manage and organize closings for commercial real estate loans.
  • Coordinate multi-state commercial loan transactions, including preparation of signature pages and escrow deliveries.
  • Follow-up on post-closing matters such as custodial deliveries and final document reviews.
  • Review and negotiate entity organizational documents, corporate certificates, and resolutions.
  • Coordinate recordation of mortgages, deeds, easements, and other instruments.
  • Prepare and file UCC financing statements and amendments.
  • Draft closing documents like Loan Agreements, Notes, Mortgages, Guaranties, and related documents.
  • Prepare closing checklists and review settlement statements.
  • Interact effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Maintain excellent organizational, writing, and proofreading skills to meet deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and paralegal certificate required; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
  • 5-7 years of legal experience in commercial real estate.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.

Additional Details

  • Work in-office at least 3 days per week; occasional overtime may be required.
  • Pay Range in New York: $44 - $62 per hour.
