Job summary

The Army National Guard seeks a Paralegal Specialist to assist Army lawyers, judges, and unit commanders with legal matters and judicial work, including family, international, and contract law.

You will gain approval to handle legal documents in courts-martial, provide assistance in legal affairs, and prepare records of hearings and investigations. Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training.

Qualifications

• Enlistment in the Army National Guard
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ages 17–35
• Pass physical exam and meet standards
• Citizenship requirements per NATIONALGUARD.com

Responsibilities

• Interview witnesses and research court decisions and Army regulations
• Prepare records of hearings, investigations, courts-martial and courts of inquiry
• Process legal claims and appeals
