Job summary
United States Army Reserve seeks a Paralegal Specialist to support the legal system across criminal, civil, family, contract, and fiscal law. You will assist judges, Army lawyers, and unit commanders with legal matters and judicial work on base.
Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Responsibilities include preparing legal documents for courts-martial, assisting in administrative law matters, and supporting family law tasks such as
Qualifications
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Be between the ages of 17–40.
- Submit to background and medical screening.
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
- Receive a passing score on the ASVAB.
Responsibilities
- Provide paralegal support to unit commanders and the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate.
- Provide legal documents in courts-martial, nonjudicial punishments and other military justice matters.
- Prepare line of duty determinations, separation board proceedings and other administrative law matters.
- Provide assistance in the family law arena with powers of attorney, wills and separation decrees.
