Assuring that all due process considerations are met and that the elements necessary to establish a violation are present and supported by appropriate documentation.

Learn more about CBP's mission, core values and careers at https://www.cbp.gov/about As a Paralegal Specialist, you will perform complex legal support work involving the review, analysis, case management, and adjudication of civil enforcement matters, and assist supervisors and Asset Forfeiture Officers in developing, evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting program management policies to resolve complex problems of national and international significance and impact.

The work supports CBP's enforcement mission by promoting legally sufficient, consistent, and timely case processing that upholds due process, supports compliance, and advances DHS enforcement objectives. This position starts at a salary of $89,508.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $116,362.00 (GS-12, Step 10) GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area. Evaluates the facts of the case in consultation with the Seized Asset Management Enforcement Procedures Handbook (SAMEPH), mitigating and aggravating factors to reach legally sufficient decisions and recommendations to mitigate, cancel or deny forfeiture actions within the Asset Forfeiture Program's authority.
