Job summary

Sacramento Superior Court is seeking a Paralegal to assist licensed attorneys under supervision. You will draft documents, conduct legal research, manage case files, and coordinate witness schedules for trials.

The role supports attorneys in preparing pleadings, orders, and other court documents while ensuring compliance with laws and court procedures. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires ABA-approved paralegal program certificate or equivalent.
• Alternative: 24 semester units in law-related courses with accredited degree.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in any subject plus law experience under CA Bar.
• High school diploma with three years of law-related experience under CA Bar.

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare, file and serve notices of deposition and subpoenas.
• Coordinate and schedule witnesses for trials.
• Draft routine correspondence for case files.
• Meet with litigants to explain court processes and present workshops.
• Conduct simple legal research using statutes and case law databases.
• Compile and analyze data from reports, depositions, and discovery.
• Interview clients and witnesses to gather information.
• Draft complaints, contracts, resolutions, and ordinances.
• Maintain organized filing systems for caseloads.
• Prepare case files for trial, including witness summaries and exhibits.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
