Position Title:

Paralegal-Legal Department-Mount Sinai Hospital-Full Time-Days

Position Summary:

The Paralegal performs legal research, analyzes legal opinions and/or prepares legal documents. Drafts affidavits, contracts and other legal documents and reviews documents and ensures the confidentiality of privileged materials and information.


Responsibilities
  • Assist in-house counsel in drafting of legal documents, including but not limited to, affidavits, corporate resolutions, subpoena responses, position statements;
  • Assist in-house counsel in management of litigation matters, including gathering and examining documents and exhibits relevant to pending litigations and investigations;
  • Perform legal research and analyze legal opinions to determine the applicability of statutes, case law, and rules and regulations to organizational matters;
  • Review documents for compliance with procedural requirements;
  • Review, ensure and maintain confidentiality of privileged information and materials provided or disclosed in the course of work;
  • Maintain legal files, including corporate documents for organizational entities;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree -or- Associate’s Degree in paralegal studies from an accredited school of paralegal training.

Experience Requirements:

  • Two years in a legal office environment preferred.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $30.68 - $44.71 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
