Job summary

The Wisconsin State Public Defenders office is seeking a Paralegal (Limited Term Employee) to support the CAP Unit. This position can be located at either Milwaukee or Madison Trial Offices and will work 40 hours per week, handling the intake of private bar cases in the Trial Division.

Responsibilities include managing client complaints regarding private bar attorneys, drafting and organizing legal documents, and performing data entry tasks with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Preparing legal documents (e.g., drafting pleadings, briefs; gathering records; organizing data).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficient with word processing, databases, spreadsheets.
