Job description

Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm, is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our general liability / insurance defense team supporting New Jersey matters. This position offers significant opportunities for someone looking to perform challenging work in a collaborative, team environment within a well-established yet growing organization. The position is based in our Roseland, NJ office, but can be fully remote.

The successful candidate will take ownership of files and work with handling attorneys to complete all necessary litigation functions, from pleadings through trial preparation.

Desired skills and knowledge:
  1. Minimum 3 years’ experience as a paralegal in a civil litigation setting;
  2. Experience handling NJ matters, including filing with state and federal courts;
  3. Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and legal terminology;
  4. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure;
  5. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in drafting, editing, and proofreading documents;
  6. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows applications, internet search engines, and electronic court filing and service systems;
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  8. Paralegal degree preferred;
  9. Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
  10. Ability to follow instructions effectively;
  11. Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload;
  12. Experience with billing and submitting time.
