The Role

We are seeking an Associate/Senior Associate to join our Legal Specialists team in New York (Manhattan) or Short Hills, NJ. The role involves reviewing, negotiating, and executing distribution and placement agent agreements with third-party intermediaries, collaborating with various internal teams including Private Wealth, Business Development, Compliance, Finance, and more.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, negotiate, and track distribution and placement agent agreements globally
• Coordinate with stakeholders to finalize agreements and handle time-sensitive matters
• Prepare responses to due diligence requests and review client documentation
• Support daily legal operations and develop organizational tracking materials
• Review NDAs in coordination with external counsel
• Build strong relationships with internal teams to support legal and client needs
• Ensure proper record-keeping and document management
• Perform special projects as needed and coordinate signatures for documents

Qualifications

• 4+ years of legal experience, preferably in law firms or in-house at a financial services firm, with at least 2+ years on distribution agreements
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proficiency in Monday.com, Salesforce, and Office Suite (Excel essential)
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, solution-oriented mindset, and team player attitude
