SLLS is seeking to fill a Paralegal & Community Coordinator role for the North Baton Rouge Heir Property Project funded by the Wilson Foundation.

This position willinvolve paralegal duties and coordination with legal clinics and presentations in the North Baton Rouge community.This position will assist attorneys with cases, including research, information gathering, client follow-up, file closure, and administrative paralegal support.Other qualities for this position includelived experience, a connection to North Baton Rouge, a strong commitment to social justice, a background inworking with low-income community members, and experience with successions, wills, and community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• Two years of experience in the legal field or public education experience in the community. (Coursework in related fields beyond high school can be substituted for experience.)

This position is classified under Staff & Admin. I. It is full-time and has a salary range of $32,625 – $49,625, depending on experience. For example, 2-3 years is $34,325, and 15 years is $45,375, the maximumstarting salary.

Additional compensation for bilingualism,acommissioned notary, a paralegal certificate, and a degree (Associate, Bachelor, J.D).
