Job summary

Travelers in Overland Park, KS seeks a paralegal to support assigned attorneys with routine legal and administrative duties, including document preparation, discovery responses, and case management. You will help prepare pleadings, coordinate between parties, and maintain calendars and time entries.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or ABA-certified paralegal certification, paralegal or litigation/claims experience, insurance-related knowledge, and strong MS Office and writing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification from an ABA-Certified program.
• Paralegal or litigation/claims experience.
• Insurance related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PDF software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn proprietary software systems.

Responsibilities

• Drafts legal documents and discovery responses for review by attorneys.
• Prepares initial pleadings and filings.
• Coordinates between multiple parties in litigation.
• Schedules depositions and court appearances.
• Maintains attorney calendars and diary dates.
• Manages case management system data.
• Performs preliminary legal research as needed.
• Assists with trial as needed and tracks billable time.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
