Legrand, a global electrical and digital building infrastructures company, seeks an In-House Paralegal for its Legal Department in West Hartford, CT. You will support attorneys across states, interact with partners, outside counsel, agencies, and vendors, and help maintain corporate records and compliance.

The role requires 4+ years in-house paralegal experience, a Bachelor’s degree (paralegal certification preferred), and strong Excel/document skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certification preferred.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience as a paralegal in an in-house setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders and counsel.
  • Proficiency in Excel and document management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and related documents and coordinate with internal and external counsel.
  • Draft and update corporate documents and correspondence.
  • Maintain corporate records and liaise with Corporate Secretary and SVP/GC.
  • Respond to government and court document requests and track proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and advise on compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Support analytics, case management, and database efforts in the department.

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an In-House Paralegal to join the Legal Department in West Hartford, CT. The selected candidate will provide high-level support to our attorneys (who work in several different states), and will liaise with internal and external parties, inclusive of business partners, outside counsel, agencies, and vendors.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do?

  • Review contracts and other legal documents related to the Company’s business (such as IP, product risk management and employment-related matters), and communicate and coordinate with external and internal legal counsel as necessary.
  • Draft, review and update corporate documents, including articles/certificates of incorporation, bylaws, annual report filings, templates and other agreements, and correspondence.
  • Work closely with the SVP & General Counsel, the Corporate Secretary, and the rest of the legal team, with corporate record-keeping and maintaining and organizing corporate records.
  • Respond to document requests received from government agencies, and federal and state courts.
  • Conduct legal research and provide recommendations to the legal team with respect to steps the Company should take to comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Monitor and update the legal team on the status of administrative and litigation proceedings.
  • Monitor and ensure internal compliance with Company policies and procedures, e.g., confidentiality agreements, NDAs.
  • Lead and support Legal Department analytics, case management and outcome tracking in Excel.
  • Partner with and provide support as needed for Legal and Compliance databases.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; Paralegal certification preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a paralegal in an in-house setting is required.
Skills/Competencies
  • Communication skills: Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to gather, analyze, and validate information accurately.
  • Project management skills: Demonstrated project management, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to establish effective processes, collaborate with multiple attorneys in a virtual environment, and work independently when needed.
  • Technical skills: proficient in using Excel and MO applications.
