Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a flexible administrator to support the Countryside and Rights of Way legal team with Definitive Map Modification Order casework, including consultation processes and publication of legal notices. Training will be provided.

The role offers remote working with attendance at the Stafford office on flexible patterns, and part-time working will be considered. Strong IT skills, confidentiality and an organised approach are essential, with a focus on delivering

  • Minimum of A-level or equivalent standard of education or extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to record and monitor progress on existing spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and initiative.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive administrative and practical support to the Countryside and Rights of Way legal team on Definitive Map Modification Order casework, including consultations, publication and service of legal notices, and arranging public hearings and inquiries.
  • Adhering to LEXCEL quality standards.
  • Handling confidential data securely in line with policy.
  • Carrying out other duties as required.

Job description

We understand the importance of a work-life balance and currently offer remote working with attendance at our Stafford office on flexible patterns and in accordance with business need. We are also happy to consider requests for part-time working. Main Responsibilities Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing full administrative and practical support to the Countryside and Rights of Way legal team in relation to Definitive Map Modification Order casework including assisting with consultation processes, arranging publication and service of legal notices, arranging public hearings and inquiries and providing support in relation to the same.
  • Adhering to the Legal Services Unit's LEXCEL quality standards.
  • Handling confidential data sensitively and securely in accordance with policy.
  • Such other duties as may reasonably be required. The successful candidate will undertake a rewarding varied caseload of countryside and public rights of way related matters. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided., Whilst no previous experience in countryside and rights of way law is necessary, we are looking for a minimum of A-level or equivalent standard of education or extensive experience in a similar role, with:
  • Strong organisational skills and a proficiency to record and monitor progress on existing excel spreadsheets
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to use own initiative
  • excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • local authority knowledge preferred but not essential.
  • Strong I.T skills
