Job description

Responsibilities include:

  • Review of all community and corporate level contracts and coordination of internal and external signatures based on signing authority parameters.
  • Management of contract disputes and notices of termination.
  • Preparation of letters of authorization, settlement agreements, waivers, bills of sale, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
  • Organization and maintenance of corporate legal documents.
  • Oversight of corporate annual report filings and license/permit renewals.
  • Providing support for various corporate legal matters related to liens, easements, encroachments, condemnations, code violations, title issues and regulatory compliance.
  • Management of litigation matters with outside counsel, excluding matters managed by our insurance carriers.
  • Escalation of significant corporate risks to the CEO/CFO.
  • Staying informed about evolving corporate governance requirements and legal benchmarks.
  • Coordination with outside counsel for the protection and enforcement of the company’s intellectual property rights.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal certification from an ABA-accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate legal experience in the real estate or hospitality fields
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Strong written, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Investigative mind with strong research skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail
