Job summary

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP seeks an experienced paralegal for our Sacramento office. The role supports attorneys in civil litigation, discovery, and trial preparation, with emphasis on organizing records and preparing legal documents.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of paralegal experience, strong research skills, iManage familiarity, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail in a fast-paced, in-office environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years paralegal experience in a law firm
• Civil litigation experience required
• Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services
• Experience working with paperless files; iManage experience a plus
• Must pass background/drug screen
• Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program required.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with preparation of a civil case through discovery and trial prep
• Discovery and records management, including subpoenas and tracking responses
• Summarize medical and employment records, create med. chronologies, summarize discovery responses
• Review, manage, summarize and synthesize records and data across case types with tort emphasis
• Motion writing experience (e.g., oppositions, discovery motions)
• Maintain billable time accurately and promptly
