Job summary

Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast are seeking a seasoned contracts professional to draft and negotiate brand license agreements and related commercial contracts. You will collaborate across engineering, marketing, production, finance, royalties, and legal teams to ensure compliant, scalable solutions.

You will develop resources, playbooks, and standard procedures while responding to internal inquiries and maintaining content clearance standards.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience supporting legal functions, interacting with clients in revenue generating businesses.
• Contract drafting, transactional, and negotiation experience with rights licensing language and minimum guarantees.
• Strong foundation in copyright and trademark law with tech/creative space awareness.
• Proficiency with AI for operational efficiencies and workflow platforms.
• Experience engaging with engineering, marketing, production, finance, royalties, and legal teams.
• Familiarity with employment status classifications and artist union agreements.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Draft, comment, negotiate, prepare, and administer various commercial contracts, with a focus on brand license agreements.
• Create resources, playbooks, document standard procedures, and develop policies.
• Prepare, present, and create internal presentations.
• Respond to various legal inquiries from company departments, subsidiaries and affiliates.
• Review and collaborate with internal stakeholders on marketing and promotional materials to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable legal requirements on content clearance, messaging, and disclosures.
• Provide overflow coverage involving services agreements, SaaS, software license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and
• Provide exceptional, responsive, and pragmatic support in response to escalations from clients regarding status and contract request process.

What You'll Bring:

• College degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience supporting legal functions, interacting with clients in revenue generating businesses – bonus if that business is video games related.
• Contract drafting, transactional, and negotiation experience with rights licensing language, royalty structures, and minimum guarantee mechanics.
• Solid foundation in copyright and trademark law, complimented with working knowledge of the multiple legal areas involved in creative and technology space.
• Strong aptitude for technology adoption, including AI for operational efficiencies, workflow management platforms, and embracing process improvement.
• Takes initiative to improve and streamline processes, managing repetitive requests into process.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and prior experience directly engaging with engineering, marketing, production, finance, royalties, business and legal teams.
• Experience providing evidence of audit controls, ability to efficiently communicate and provide instruction regarding the interoperability of contract terms within operational systems, the lifecycle to clients, and internal auditors.
• Familiarity with classification of employment status, including terms associated with performing and artist union agreements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Teams, Jira, Confluence and other similar programs.
• Comfortable supporting clients in different time zones.
• Exceptional ability to organize multiple projects.

Nice to Have:

• Maintains current knowledge of video game industry, content distribution methods and business models, players in brand licensing, and standards in areas of consumer protection regulations, marketing standards, privacy regulations, and AI landscape.
• Eagerness to learn new areas of law!
• Reviews company activities and policies for legal compliance and adherence to domestic and foreign governmental policies and regulations.
• French business fluency.

The pay transparency range for this role is listed below. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
