Job description

Kalshi has defined a new category: prediction markets. Kalshi allows people to trade on the outcome of any events and turn any question about the future into a financial asset. Kalshi fought for years and legalized prediction markets in the US for the first time in history. Kalshi is currently the fastest growing financial market in America, and has thousands of markets across politics, economics, financials, weather, tech, AI, culture and more.

We believe prediction markets have the potential to be the largest financial market because they turn anything into a financial position.

Our vision: well… build the largest financial market on the planet.

Our mission: bring more truth to the world through the power of markets.

Building a new category is hard… like really hard. But it’sbeautiful and deeply fulfilling. Our culture is simple: we hire really talented people, work really hard, and enjoy the climb. We are looking for ambitious and exceptional people to join our (relatively small) team to help us build the next generation of financial markets.

About the Role

As a Paralegal in the Legal Department, you’ll serve as a key operational partner to Kalshi’s legal and compliance teams. You will support the drafting and filing of CFTC materials, manage documentation and internal processes, and help organize the execution of critical legal and compliance projects. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable navigating complex regulatory structures.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory and Legal Support
  • Draft, edit, and coordinate first drafts of CFTC filings for Kalshi’s DCM and DCO entities, including rule submissions, notifications, and periodic reports.
  • Maintain calendars and project trackers for CFTC filings and responses.
  • Manage legal administrative functions such as maintaining the Rulebook, tracking amendments, and ensuring version control.
  • Research and summarize relevant CFTC rules, no-action letters, and guidance applicable to Kalshi’s operations.
Project Management
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and status reports for Legal and Compliance initiatives.
  • Track deliverables and follow up with stakeholders across teams to ensure timely execution.
  • Manage document repositories and templates for consistent use across teams.
  • Support cross-functional working groups for regulatory submissions and governance reviews.
Compliance Collaboration
  • Work closely with Compliance to cite Kalshi Rulebook and Customer Agreement provisions in responses to customer complaints or inquiries.
  • Assist in preparing internal documentation for regulatory audits, training programs, and policy updates.
  • Maintain reference materials linking customer communications, rule citations, and procedural documents.
Presentation and Reporting
  • Create and maintain decks, reports, and presentations for Legal and Compliance leadership.
  • Support the preparation of materials for regulatory meetings, internal briefings, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with visual formatting and consistency across team deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal certification or J.D. coursework preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal or legal operations professional in a regulated financial, fintech, or exchange environment.
  • Familiarity with CFTC regulations, DCM/DCO filings, or similar frameworks strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational, writing, and project management skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, including deck creation.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.
Why Join Kalshi
  • Be part of a pioneering, CFTC-regulated exchange defining a new market structure.
  • Work directly with experienced attorneys and compliance professionals shaping U.S. regulatory innovation.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to market regulation, clearing operations, and product compliance.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and a mission-driven culture focused on transparency and trust.
