Job summary

Crisp Recruit in New York City seeks a paralegal with strong personal injury litigation experience and proven organizational skills. You will manage the litigation calendar, coordinate depositions and hearings, and draft pleadings and motions while maintaining NY court standards.

You’ll communicate with clients and support attorneys, acting as an accountability partner and helping to scale operations as the firm grows. The role requires in-office work and a proactive, leadership-minded approach.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in personal injury litigation and familiarity with New York courts and e-filing systems.
  • Strong, assertive communication skills are required to hold team members accountable and push forward with tasks.
  • Highly organized multitasking and prioritization capabilities are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Litigation Management: Manage and own the litigation calendar, ensuring deadlines and milestones are met efficiently.
  • Case Coordination: Schedule and confirm depositions, hearings, IMEs, and other key events; follow up and escalate roadblocks.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and e-file pleadings, discovery, and motions per New York court standards.
  • Client Communication: Provide timely updates and triage inquiries, ensuring next steps are completed.
  • Attorney Support: Act as accountability partner to ensure tasks are completed with no detail overlooked.
  • Operational Contribution: Assist in improving firm processes and systems as the firm scales.
  • Inter-departmental Coordination: Work with overseas medical records clerk to organize case preparation documents.

What you’ll do:
  • Litigation Management: Manage and own the litigation calendar, ensuring all critical deadlines and milestones are met efficiently.
  • Case Coordination: Proactively schedule and confirm depositions, hearings, IMEs, and other key legal events by following up persistently, securing dates, and escalating roadblocks when needed.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and e-file various legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery, and motions, while adhering to New York court standards.
  • Client Communication: Support client communications by providing timely updates, triaging inbound questions, and ensuring responses and next steps are completed.
  • Attorney Support: Act as an accountability partner for attorneys, ensuring tasks are completed and no detail is overlooked.
  • Operational Contribution: Assist in improving firm processes and operational systems as the firm scales.
  • Inter-departmental Coordination: Work with the overseas medical records clerk and ensure all necessary documentation is acquired and organized for case preparation.
