Job summary

The New Orleans, LA office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking a paralegal with litigation experience to support a minimum of four attorneys. Responsibilities include document management, discovery support, pleadings, motions, depositions, and trial preparation.

Ideal candidate has pre-trial/trial experience and familiarity with Louisiana and Federal filing rules. Benefits include 401k with employer match, sick and vacation time, and clear paths for growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate. A certificate may be required based on region, state, or client requirements.
• At least three (3) years of litigation work experience, General Liability background preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
• Strong Excel skills required
• Strong organizational, written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
• Ability to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours
• This position has an annual billable requirement of 1,600 hours

Responsibilities

• Review, creation, and organization of documents and files.
• Obtain records and compile information for discovery, pleadings, motions, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Support pre-trial and trial activities.
• Adhere to Louisiana State and Federal filing rules and procedures.

Overview

The New Orleans, LA office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a paralegal with litigation experience. The primary duties of this position include working for a minimum of (4) attorneys, involving document and file management including but not limited to review, creation, and organization. In addition, obtaining records and compiling information for discovery, pleadings, motions, depositions, and trial preparation are essential functions of this role. Ideal candidate will have pre-trial and trial experience and be familiar with Louisiana State and Federal filing rules and procedures. Appellate experience a plus.
