Job summary

BlackSky is seeking a paralegal to support the Legal Department, reporting to the Associate General Counsel. The role can be based at our Herndon, VA headquarters or fully remote, with a preference for candidates on the East Coast and EST.

Limited travel to Herndon may be required for corporate meetings and team building. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in corporate governance, entity formation and maintenance, and SOX/SEC filings, with strong administrative skills and attention

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Paralegal studies certification.
• At least 3 years paralegal experience.
• Experience in fast-paced, highly regulated environments.
• Audit support experience.
• Experience with corporate governance.
• Experience with entity formation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Support corporate governance activities and maintain documentation.
• Support corporate filings and entity formation/maintenance, domestic and international.
• Provide audit support for SOX reporting and SEC filings.
• Support Legal Department, manage external counsel relations.
• Oversee issuance and tracking of NDAs and commercial evaluation agreements.
• Assist in issuing POs and invoices via Deltek system with monthly reports.
• Negotiation and management of consultant agreements and renewals.
• Maintain electronic contract and legal files.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

BlackSky is looking for a paralegal to report to the company's Associate General Counsel. The position will support the Legal Department's activities and broader corporate initiatives by providing crucial administrative support and assistance. The position can be based at the company's Herndon, VA headquarters or may be fully remote, with a strong preference for someone located on the east coast/within EST, with limited travel to the Herndon office once or twice a year in support of corporate meetings and team building activities.

Responsibilities:

• Support corporate governance activities and organize and maintain documentation.
• Support corporate filings and establishment and maintenance of entities, both domestic and international. Maintain documents and renewals.
• Provide administrative and audit support for SOX reporting and SEC filings.
• Provide administrative support to Legal Department, to include dispute and litigation support as needed. Engage and manage external counsel relationships as required.
• Oversee issuance and tracking of non-disclosure agreements and commercial evaluation agreements.
• Support issuance of certain corporate and program-specific Purchase Orders (PO) and invoices via Deltek system. Provide accurate spread sheet or system report monthly for compliance.
• Issue, negotiate and manage consultant agreements and renewal timelines.
• Assist in maintaining and updating electronic contract and legal files.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience.
• Paralegal studies certification.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal.
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Prior audit support experience.
• Experience with corporate governance.
• Experience with entity formation and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior SOX and SEC filing experience.
• Notary Public.
• US Government contracting support experience for a US or DOD Government contractor.
• Foreign business registration and maintenance experience.

The anticipated base salary range is $75,000 - $95,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education. BlackSky is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect salary ranges in other states or locations.
