Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Paralegal to support the Legal Services team under the direction of licensed attorneys. The role focuses on drafting and reviewing physician employment agreements, real estate leases, and vendor contracts, while improving contract workflows and document management.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of paralegal experience, an associate’s degree or higher, and preferred healthcare policy familiarity.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or two years of college in a relevant discipline is required.
  • Three years of relevant paralegal experience.
  • Preferred: healthcare setting experience or health care law/policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist General Counsel with coordinating the contract review process.
  • Prepare, review and proofread a high volume and diverse range of agreements.
  • Revise contract language in partnership with General Counsel.
  • Assist in creation, use and updating of templates and forms.
  • Organize and route high volume of agreements for timely execution.
  • Engage in contracting process improvement and implement efficient workflows.
  • Organize and maintain corporate files (minutes, resolutions).
  • Assist in documentation production and redaction of documents.

Summary: Under the direction of licensed attorneys,the Paralegalprovides a wide variety of paralegal functions, which may include drafting legal documents and contracts concerning business transactions and acquisitions;performing basic case management skills;and acting as a front-end interface withteammates within UNC Health Pardee.

Responsibilities
  • AssistGeneral Counselwith coordination of contract review process

  • Timelyprepare,reviewand proofread a high volume and diverse range of agreements, with a focus on physician employment agreements, real estateleasesand vendor contracts

  • Revisecontract language in partnership withGeneral Counsel

  • AssistGeneral Counselin creation, use and updating of template and form documents

  • Organizeand routehigh volume of agreements fortimelyexecution

  • Proactively engage in and lead contracting process improvement initiatives andimplementssmooth,speedyand efficientwork flows

  • Organize andmaintaincorporate files, such as organizational documents,minutesand resolutions

  • Assistin documentation production, redaction of documents and preparation of document notebooks and exhibits

  • AssistGeneral Counselwith file maintenance, case management plans, calendaring, invoice and check processing, and routine communications with internal clients

  • Under attorney direction, draft correspondence, pleadings, and legal instruments

  • Perform research andassistwithprojects asassigned byattorney. Performing generaladministrativeduties, such as filing, organizing, and routing contracts for execution

  • File documents with courts and administrative tribunals.

  • Be familiar with sourcesoffederalandNorth Carolina law, including the North Carolina General Statutes, State rules and regulations, and federal statutes and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

Associate's degree or two years of college inan appropriate discipline.

Three (3) years of relevant experience

Preferred

Experience in a healthcare setting or with health care-related law or policy

Experience with Contract Management Software,Westlaw, and LexisNexis

Bachelor's degree orhigher inan appropriate discipline

Certifiedas a National(NALA)or North Carolina State Paralegal
