Job summary

Steptoe & Johnson PLLC in Dallas seeks an experienced Paralegal to join our litigation team. The role supports complex, high-exposure civil litigation and requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

You will manage case materials, coordinate discovery, assist with trial preparation, and help move matters efficiently from intake through resolution. Experience in Texas district courts and county courts at law is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience required.
• Prior law firm experience supporting complex civil litigation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys through all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, pretrial proceedings, and trials.
• Obtain, organize, review, and summarize medical, employment, and other case records.
• Prepare medical chronologies, billing summaries, expert witness logs, and other case-related materials.
• Coordinate third-party discovery, including subpoenas and depositions on written questions.
• Manage case intake, file organization, deadlines, and transferred matters.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients, experts, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate daily time entries and meet billable-hour expectations.
