Job summary

Martine, Katz Scanlon & Schimmel, P.A. seeks an experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our team in Cherry Hill, NJ. The role supports attorneys and clients in complex family law matters, emphasizing accuracy, organization, and proactive collaboration.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, managing calendars and deadlines, and coordinating with clients and courts. Requires 3+ years in family law. We offer a supportive, flexible work environment and generous PTO and bonuses.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of family law paralegal experience.
  • Strong understanding of family court procedures and litigation process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software.
  • Experience with electronic court filing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Draft family law pleadings, motions, certifications, CIS, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Prepare and analyze Case Information Statements for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case timelines.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and third parties.
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files and case management systems.
  • Prepare materials for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Assist with financial discovery and document review.
  • Electronically file court documents and monitor case status.
  • Schedule client meetings, court appearances, and expert consultations.
  • Maintain accurate billing and timekeeping records.
  • Support attorneys throughout all phases of family law matters.

Salary: $60,000–65,000 annually, based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Draft family law pleadings, motions, certifications, Case Information Statements (CIS), discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Prepare and analyze Case Information Statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of client financial information
  • Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and case timelines to ensure matters progress efficiently
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and third parties
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files and legal case management systems
  • Prepare materials for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Assist with financial discovery, document review, and overall case preparation
  • Electronically file court documents and monitor case status
  • Schedule client meetings, court appearances, and expert consultations
  • Maintain accurate billing and timekeeping records
  • Support attorneys throughout all phases of family law matters, including divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, domestic violence, and post-judgment proceedings
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of family law paralegal experience
  • Strong understanding of family court procedures and the litigation process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • The ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal case management software
  • Experience with electronic court filing systems
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff
Bonus Experience:
  • Experience using LEAP Legal Software
  • Experience managing complex family law litigation matters
  • Strong financial discovery and document review experience
