Paralegal – Family Law (Discovery Focused)

Location: Bethesda, MD

This is not your average paralegal position.

New & Lowinger, P.C. is a boutique, upscale family law firm located in downtown Bethesda, serving high-net-worth clients across Maryland, Virginia, and DC. We’re currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented paralegal to join our team of four attorneys in a discovery-intensive role.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a highly focused and professional environment. You’ll play a key role in managing complex family law matters with a strong emphasis on discovery. This position requires a sharp, organized individual who can thrive in a fast-paced setting while keeping track of varying rules and procedures across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys with all phases of discovery (interrogatories, document requests, production, etc.)
• File documents and manage case materials in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia courts (familiarity with e-filing is a plus, willingness to learn is required)
• Maintain organization across a high-volume caseload
• Prepare high-quality, accurate, and detail-oriented work product
• Keep timelines and requirements straight for the three jurisdictions
• Work independently and reliably with minimal oversight

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in family law
• Familiarity with MD, VA and DC electronic court filing systems is a strong plus
• Discovery experience is essential
• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and time management
• Must be within commutable distance to downtown Bethesda and able to work in-person, with the possibility of some hybrid/remote work.
• Discretion and confidentiality required given the high-profile clients we serve.
