Are you an accomplished paralegal seeking a pivotal role within an esteemed boutique law firm?

Can you take ownership of your work, handling cases independently and confidently?

Final question: When faced with a challenge, do you get excited or run away?

Nestled in the heart of Central Florida, Sutton Law Firm stands as a trusted advocate for families and individuals navigating some of life’s most challenging moments. Founded and led by Debra J. Sutton, the firm has built its reputation on compassion, precision, and unwavering dedication to justice. More than just a law firm, Sutton Law Firm is a partner in progress, empowering clients through education, transparency, and empathetic counsel.

Whether representing a parent in a custody dispute, a professional pursuing an appeal, or a family planning for a new chapter, Sutton Law Firm blends traditional advocacy with modern technology and communication. With a steadfast belief that every client deserves both excellence and understanding, the firm continues to set the standard for thoughtful, principled representation throughout Florida.

The role of Paralegal at Sutton Law Firm is critical to maintaining the firm’s commitment to excellence in family law. We are seeking an experienced Florida Registered Paralegal who can seamlessly manage a demanding caseload, supporting our attorneys in delivering exceptional legal representation. This role is integral in alleviating operational burdens from our legal team, ensuring efficient case management, and providing vital support to our clients during what are often emotionally charged proceedings.

What you’ll do:

  • Case Management: Independently handle a high-volume family law caseload, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, review, and e-file pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses.
  • File Organization: Maintain detailed and organized case files for efficient access and audit readiness.
  • Deadline Tracking: Manage firm and court deadlines, ensuring all timelines are adhered to without exception.
  • Attorney Preparation: Prepare attorneys for hearings, mediations, and trials, including exhibit preparation.
  • Client Communication: Engage with clients professionally, maintaining empathy while managing sensitive cases.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to court rules and procedural requirements in all matters.

What we’re looking for:

  • FRP Certification: Must possess an active Florida Registered Paralegal license in good standing.
  • Family Law Experience: Must have meaningful experience in family law; general civil or PI experience will not suffice.
  • Work Environment Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced boutique firm setting.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple case files with precision and attention to detail.
  • Professionalism: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a polished and professional demeanor.
  • Emotional Resilience: Confidence in handling emotionally challenging situations with stability and grace.
  • Autonomous Workflow: Capable of working independently, anticipating needs, and moving cases forward proactively.
  • Onsite Engagement: Thrives in an in-office role where collaboration and direct engagement with colleagues are integral to success.

Why you should work here:

  • High Impact Role: Play a significant role within a firm that values paralegals as essential to case success.
  • Direct Attorney Collaboration: Work closely with experienced attorneys, easing operational pressures.
  • Structured Environment: Benefit from a clear, high-standards work culture that values precision over chaos.
  • Career Growth: Opportunity to elevate the team’s performance and make a tangible impact on client experiences.
  • Paid Time Off: Enjoy a generous and thoughtfully designed time-off program that supports rest, celebration, and work-life balance. Our PTO structure rewards tenure and ensures team members have meaningful opportunities to recharge throughout the year.

Join Sutton Law Firm and become a key player in our dedicated team, where your skills and expertise will have a meaningful impact on client outcomes.
