Job summary

Granite School District is seeking a Paraeducator to support students in small group mathematics instruction under the direction of the principal and teachers. This 25-hour-per-week position requires reliable attendance and collaboration with staff to promote positive student outcomes.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, assisting in instruction, tutoring in small groups, and monitoring student progress.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 48 hours of college credit; Associates degree or higher; or passing score on the ParaPro exam.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the principal and teacher(s), the paraeducator assists teachers in a variety of capacities in the instruction and supervision of students. Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are required and are essential functions of this position.

Essential Functions

• Assists in the preparation of instruction materials.


• Assists in the instruction of students and other classroom activities as needed.


• May tutor students individually or in small groups.


• Assist in the administration of a variety of tests and monitors students' academic progress.


• Keeps accurate data on assigned students or group of students.


• Supports a school environment that helps students develop and maintain a positive self-concept.


• Maintains professional confidentiality regarding student information.


• Maintains effective and positive communication with students, teachers, parents, patrons, and administration.


• Work collaboratively in a team environment.

Required Education And Qualifications
