Sylvania in Blaine, Minnesota is seeking a paraeducator to deliver supplemental reading and math support to at-risk students under the direction of licensed staff. The role may also provide social and emotional support to students in need.
Applicants must meet education requirements (60 credits or an associate's degree, or pass the ParaEducator/ParaPro exam) and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork, plus the ability to work with technology and lift up to 25 pounds.
Full-Time 184 days/6 hrs/day
This position can be filled after a 5-day posting period.
Work under the direction of a licensed staff memberto provide supplemental reading and math support to at-risk students. May also provide social/emotional behavioral supportto at-risk students.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be physically working in the building. Candidates must have completed60 semester/90 quarter credits orobtained an associate's degree (or higher)from a regionally accredited institutionorhave passed the ParaEducator exam or ParaPro exam. (Documentation will be required) Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability/desire to work with technology and computers. Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff. Ability to supervise students. Ability to take direction. Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
$20.00/hour to $23.00/hour DOQ with K-12 experience
$21.15/hour to $24.15/hour with AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits from a regionallyaccreditedinstitution, DOQ with K-12 experience
$22.00/hour to $25.00/hour with BA degree from a regionally accreditedinstitution, DOQ with K-12 experience
