Position Details

Type: Full-Time, 184 days / 6.5 hours per day

Duties
  • Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings.
  • Manage behavior by redirecting, calming, or removing disruptive students from the classroom.
  • Monitor and record student progress in areas such as academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, and social skills.
  • Manage physical needs including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Personal Care Assistant certification required within 30 days of start date.
  • Candidates must have completed 60 semester or 90 quarter credits, obtained an associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, or passed the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam (documentation required).
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability and desire to work with technology and computers.
  • Ability to supervise students, work cooperatively with staff, and take direction.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
Physical and Other Requirements

Must be able to perform responsibilities including physical tasks such as toileting, feeding, and self-care procedures. Must be physically present in the building.

Rate of Pay
  • $19.60/hour to $24.75/hour depending on experience.
  • Additional pay for center-based and specialized programs.
Start Date

ASAP after closing, with eligibility for insurance benefits aligned with hire date and position hours.
