Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools’ Stedwick Elementary School is seeking a part-time paraeducator to support students with IEPs. Working under the direction of the principal, you will assist with academic and non-academic needs and help implement instructional activities in collaboration with teachers.

Responsibilities include supporting student learning, attending to personal care and medical needs, and participating in planned activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Nine college credits in education-related fields such as behavior management.
• One year of experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• Alternative combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of instructional programs and monitor student behavior.
• Provide academic, behavioral, social, emotional and physical support as needed.
• Attend to personal care and medical needs; support students with special needs.
• Support teachers with clerical tasks and learning activities.
