Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs, deliver instructional assistance, and help manage classroom activities.

The position involves collaboration with teachers, potential off-site activities, and responsibilities across grade-level content in a Title I context. Experience with behavior management and instructional strategies is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred; coursework in education such as behavior management or instructional strategies.
• Minimum credits: 48 college credits or two years of structured setting experience; ParaPro score may be required.
• Two years of experience in structured settings such as daycare, preschool, or after-school programs may substitute education coursework.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience providing the needed knowledge and skills will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional activities and classroom management.
• Support teachers and other staff with clerical tasks and instructional support.
• Maintain appropriate student behavior and safety.
• Work with students with Special Needs and adapt activities as needed.
