Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator at Roscoe Nix Elementary School in Silver Spring for a 6-hour, 10-month schedule, combining Paraeducator Level I/II duties with Lunch Hour Aide responsibilities. This is a part-time position intended to support prekindergarten through early elementary activities.

The successful candidate will assist with instructional activities, manage classroom behavior, and support students with diverse needs under supervision.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; higher degree preferred.
• Minimum 48 college credits and related education coursework.
• Passing ParaPro Assessment required (455+).
• Experience with children in structured educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support and classroom management.
• Assist teachers with activities for ages 3–5.
• Support students with diverse needs under supervision.
• Perform clerical tasks to assist staff.
