Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 seeks a Paraeducator – Cross Categorical (including ELL) to support students with IEPs within a Specialized Student Services setting. You will work under direct supervision of a certified staff member, implement instructional lessons, and help maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.

This 10-month role has a starting rate of $22.48/hr, requires a Para Educator license or 60 college hours (or ETS Para Pro/Work Keys), and values prior classroom

Qualifications

• Para Educator license or 60 college hours required.
• Passing score on the ETS Para Pro exam or two Work Keys exams is acceptable.
• Experience with students in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement individual or small group instructional lessons under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Familiarize self with goals for mainstream/IEP students and assist with related activities.
• Escort students within the building and maintain materials for lessons.
• Collaborate with the teacher, document student behavior, and attend staff meetings.
• Lift/assist with students as needed and support behavior programs.
