Job summary

Surrey Hills Elementary School in Yukon, Oklahoma is seeking a Paraeducator (Special Education Aide or Tier II Paraprofessional) to support students with various needs in LEAP, RISE, LIFE and ABLE programs. Immediate start with a structured classroom environment and direct instructional support.

The candidate will assist teachers, manage non-instructional duties, and participate in a district training program including CPR certification and Tier II paraprofessional requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
• 48 college hours, associate's degree, or ability to complete WorkKeys tests within 60 days of hire date.
• Paraprofessional training provided by the district.
• CPR Certification.
• Oklahoma Tier II Paraprofessional Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for classroom activities under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Assist teacher with instructional classroom duties.
• Assist with non-instructional duties including feeding, tube feeding, toileting (including diaper changes), clothing management, and transitions between classrooms and activities.
• Assist with an individual child's particular needs when called upon.
• Perform clerical duties for the assigned teacher.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by the principal.

TITLE: PARAEDUCATOR (Special Education Aide or Tier II Paraprofessional)

• LEAP:(Learners Excelling And Progressing) Lab/Resource setting with collaboration, monitor, co-teach and direct instruction service delivery.
• RISE:(Reaching Independence through Structured Education) Functional skills and modified curriculum classroom for students with mild/moderate disabilities.
• LIFE:(Learning In a Functional Environment) Functional skills and modified curriculum classroom for students with severe/profound disabilities.
• ABLE:(Academic and Behavioral Learning Environment) Classroom for students with emotional and behavioral concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:
