Overview

This Host position is located at Paradise Park, 1913 W North Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests as they enter with an energetic and positive attitude
• Create and maintain a wait list when necessary
• Effectively use OpenTable
• Provide guests with menus and answer initial questions
• Seat guests at tables or in designated waiting areas
• Assign guests to tables as requested while maintaining table rotation so servers receive the right number of guests
• Respond to complaints and help resolve them or escalate to a manager
• Answer phone calls, take reservations, and answer general inquiries
• Maintain a running knowledge of the food and beverage menu
• Acknowledge guests as they leave and maintain company culture

Other Functions

• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or supervisor

Physical Functions

• Stand and walk for up to 8 hours or as needed
• Exert frequent mobility for up to 8 hours
• Reach, bend, stoop, carry, manipulate and input data as needed
• Work in both warm and cool environments
• Tolerance for high noise from music and traffic
• Allergen exposure tolerance: peanuts, eggs, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish

Qualifications, Education and Behavior

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff
• Delivers high-quality work with or without supervision
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods
• Able to safely lift and maneuver trays of food when necessary
• Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed
• Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
• Able to work in a busy restaurant environment
• Restaurant experience is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: $19-22 hourly (Based on experience)
