Job summary

Covelo Group is seeking a Para Educator in Pleasanton, CA to provide classroom and one-on-one support during daytime school hours. You will assist with routines, reinforce lessons, and help students develop social and daily living skills, contributing to a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is desirable.
• Experience in school or student-support roles is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work with students with behavioral, physical, and developmental needs.
• Must be patient and able to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support students with classwork, routines, and daily activities.
• Reinforce lessons and directions from the classroom teacher.
• Help students develop social, behavioral, and independent living skills.
• Monitor student behavior and provide appropriate support.
• Follow student IEP and 504 plans as directed.
• Assist during breaks, lunch, and other school activities.
• Support related therapies (PT, OT, or speech) when directed.
• Assist with toileting, diapering, hygiene, and personal care as required.
• Communicate with teachers and supervisors regarding student needs.

Para Educator | Up to $24/hr | Pleasanton, CA

Up to $24/hour | Monday-Friday | Daytime school hours | School-based | Classroom and 1:1 student support

Looking for a consistent weekday schedule working with students? We’re hiring Para Educators in Pleasanton, CA, to provide classroom, behavioral, and one-on-one support throughout the school day.

Depending on your assignment, you may work individually with a student or support several students alongside the classroom teacher.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Previous school or student-support experience preferred, but not required
• Comfortable working with students with a range of behavioral, physical, and developmental needs
• Patient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
• Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds when needed
• Able to kneel, squat, sit on the floor, stand, and walk throughout the school day
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at different school sites based on assignment
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
