Job summary

York County School Division is seeking a Para-Educator/Teacher Assistant at Tabb Middle School. Ten-month position supporting teachers, monitoring student progress, and assisting with instructional activities under supervision.

Qualifications include an Associate degree or higher (or HS diploma with 48 credits or approved test); Bachelor's degree qualifies for Tier Two. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work with diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Substitute for the classroom teacher for short periods under plans provided by the teacher.
• Assist with daily routine tasks related to instructional activities and monitor attendance.
• Reinforce skills taught by the classroom teacher to individuals and small groups.
• Help students with special assignments or those needing additional academic support.
• Collect information on student progress and communicate with the classroom teacher.
• Monitor students under the supervision of the teacher or administrator.
• Participate in staff development activities related to the assignment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
